Examples of works to practice staccato technique in clarinet instrument
Klarnetin staccato tekniğini güçlendirme aşamaları eser çalışmalarıyla uygulanmıştır. Staccato
Sekiz özgün eser çalışmasının her
Klarnetin üçüncü oktav “la-si- do” seslerinin doğru çıkmasını hedefleyen çalışma önerileri
Her çalışma
Klarnetin Boş “Sol” Sesi İle On İkili Perde Sistemi “Si” Notasını Hızlandıracak Öneriler
An Evaluation of ENG101 English for Academic Purposes Program at TED University English Language School
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the newly implemented curriculum for ENG101 course at TEDU to help decision makers to decide whether to terminate, or renew the current program, and present to them what points need to be developed in the program based on instructors and students’ views. In this line, research questions are as follows: 1) To what extent have the students achieved the outcomes of the course? 2) What are main reasons influencing the achievement of the course outcomes? 3) Does the course pack serve the purpose for achieving the outcomes? 4) How well do the program objectives meet students’ needs? Metfessel-Michael’s Evaluation model is adopted in this evaluation study. Their approach is heavily influenced by Tylerian model and elaborates on it suggesting alternative data collection tools that might be used in evaluation process. Moreover, based on Leech and Onwuegbuzie’s typology, a partially mixed concurrent equal status design was followed in this evaluation study. There were 273 students (N = 290) taking ENG101 course in 2016-2017 Spring semester and they constituted the participants of the study. Out of 273, 59% (n = 160) completed the questionnaire. Of enrolled (N = 250) students, 5 students were chosen for focus group interview based on a gender balanced group, and taking the course either first or second time criteria. Also, all 4 instructors implementing the curriculum of ENG101 course constituted the second group of participants. Moreover, TEDU ELS director who is one of the decision makers was another data source. The questionnaire consisting of 50 items under five sections developed by Güntek was used. As for the data collection tools; course evaluation questionnaire for the students, a semi-structured focus group interview form for students, a semistructured individual interview form for instructors, a semi-structured individual interview form for the director were utilized. Students’ final grades were also used. Quantitative data [final grades (reading comprehension, vocabulary, paraphrasing and presentation skills)] and Course Evaluation Questionnaire for the Students were analyzed descriptively and as for the qualitative data gathered via interviews, content analysis was utilized leading to 4 themes identified and named as a) better student success than expected, b) instructors’ flexibility, c) No problem raised in ENG101, and d) Feedback from other stakeholders. As for the main findings of the study; new implemented curriculum in ENG101 has achieved its aims and objectives to a considerable extent. The majority of students got a score of 65 which corresponds to a passing grade. Questionnaire results regarding students’ evaluation of the course outcomes showed that they are moderately happy with the objectives of the course. The most significant result is that students recognized the importance of the course and its connection to their caree
Outcomes of Percutaneous Balloon Mitral Valvuloplasty in Significant Mitral Stenosis with Moderate Mitral Regurgitation - Single Center Study
Objective:Rheumatic heart disease is the deposition of immune complexes which cause malfunction of the heart valves. Percutaneous mitral balloon valvuloplasty (PMBV) is an established treatment option in patients with symptomatic moderate or severe rheumatic mitral valve disease, but PMBV is not a preferred option in mitral stenosis (MS) patients with moderate mitral regurgitation (MR) due to the risk of severe MR. The aim of this study was to evaluate the safety and feasibility of PMBV in symptomatic MS patients with moderate MR by comparing the post-procedural parameters with those of MS patients with mild or no MR.Method:Among 104 patients with symptomatic MS, 10 patients with moderate MR were classified as group 2 while 94 patients who had mild or none MR were classified as group 1 in the present work. All patients underwent PMBV and pre- and post-procedural mitral valve area, MRs were recorded and cardiovascular events and complications were assessed in 30 days. Results:The only difference in both groups before and after the procedure was the severity of the MR. Cardiovascular death was not observed for both groups in 30 days. In group 1, there were 3 patients and in group 2, there was 1 patient who developed severe MR after PMBV. All patients who had post-procedural severe MR required mitral valve replacement in 30 days due to severe MR in group 1. The composite complication rate was similar between the groups. Conclusion:PMBV might be an alternative treatment option for selected patients having significant MS with moderate MR
Natural diterpenoid alysine A isolated from Teucrium alyssifolium exerts antidiabetic effect via enhanced glucose uptake and suppressed glucose absorption
Teucrium species have been used in folk medicine as antidiabetic, antiinflammatory, antiulcer, and antibacterial agents. We have explored in vitro antidiabetic impacts of 2 natural diterpenoids, alysine A and alysine B, isolated
from Teucrium alyssifolium. The lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) cytotoxicity assay, glucose uptake test, glucose utilization
(glycogen content) test, glucose transport test, glucose absorption (α-glucosidase activity) test, insulin secretion test,
RNA isolation and cDNA synthesis assay, qPCR quantification assays, and statistical analyses were carried out in the
present study. Alysine A exerted the following effects at non-cytotoxic doses:
• Enhanced the glucose uptake, as much as the insulin in the C2C12, HepG2, and 3T3-L1 cells
• Increased the glycogen content in the C2C12 and HepG2 liver cells, significantly higher than the insulin and
metformin
• Suppressed the alpha-glucosidase and the GLUT2 expression levels in the Caco-2 cells
• Suppressed the SGLT1 and GLUT1-5 expression levels in the Caco-2 cells
• Induced the insulin receptor substrate (IRS)1 and GLUT2 expression levels of the BTC6 pancreatic cells
• Induced the insulin receptor (INSR), IRS2, phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K), GLUT4, and protein kinase (PK)
expression levels of the 3T3-L1 and C2C12 cells
• Increased glucose transport through the Caco-2 cell layer
• Did not influence insulin secretion in the pancreatic BTC6 cells
Consequently, these data strongly emphasized the antidiabetic action of alysine A on the particularly critical model
mechanisms that assume a part in glucose homeostasis, such as glucose uptake, utilization, and storage. Moreover, the
expression level of the essential genes in glucose metabolism and insulin signaling was altered in a way that the results
would be antihyperglycemic. A blend of in vitro and in situ tests affirmed the antihyperglycemic action of alysine A and
its mechanism. Alysine A has exercised significant and positive results on the glucose homeostasis; thus, it is a natural
and pleiotropic antidiabetic agent. Advanced in vivo studies are required to clarify the impact of this compound on
glucose homeostasis completelyThis work was supported by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey under TÜBİTAK,

Quantitative assessment of left atrial functions by speckle tracking echocardiography in hypertensive patients with and without retinopathy
Purpose:The association between hypertensive retinopathy and left atrial(LA) impairment is unknown. Accordingly, it was aimed to investigate the possiblerelationship between hypertensive retinopathy and LA phasic functions by means oftwo-dimensional speckle-tracking echocardiography (2D-STE).Methods:A total of 124 hypertensive patients and 27 control subjects were includedin the study. LA reservoir strain (LAS-S), LA conduit strain (LAS-E), and LA boosterstrain (LAS-A) parameters were used to evaluate LA myocardial functions. Results:Hypertensive patients (with and without retinopathy) displayed an obviousreduction in the LA reservoir strain (LAS-S),and LA conduit strain (LAS-E). Moreover, further impairment in LA reservoir and conduit strain was found in patients withhypertensive retinopathy than in the isolated hypertensive patients. There were nosignificant differences in LA booster strain (LAS-A) among the three groups. ImpairedLAS-S(OR: 0.764, CI: 0.657–0.888, andp< 0.001), LAS-E(OR: 0.754, CI: 0.634–0.897,andp=0.001), and hypertension (HT) duration (OR: 2.345, CI: 1.568–3.507, andp< 0.001) were shown to be independent predictors of hypertensive retinopathy. Conclusion:Impaired LA reservoir and conduit strain may be used to predict hyper-tensive patients at higher risk of developing hypertensive retinopathy, and to deter-mine which patients should be followed more closely for hypertensive retinopath
A Child with Acute Appendicitis Secondary to Blunt Abdominal Trauma: A Case Report and Review of the Literature
We present a child with abdominal pain and vomiting after blunt abdominal trauma (BAT). He had tenderness, guarding and rebound on the bilateral lower quadrant of the abdomen. He had no abrasion on the abdominal skin surface. He had marked leukocytosis and increased C-reactive protein level. Contrast-enhanced abdominal computed tomography revealed inflamed appendicitis. He was operated by pediatric surgeons and, an perforated appendix was illustrated on pathological examination. BAT and acute appendicitis (AA) are independently very frequent issues. In pediatric emergency departments, BAT and AA are very frequent issues, however, coexistence of these two condition in the same patient is rare. This case report and review of the literature showed that occurrence of AA after BAT should be considered by emergency physicians
